What is the difference between slick and sleek

I wouldn't tell a person their hair looked slick, unless I knew them very well and cared enough about them to let them know they should lay off the bryl cream!!

Click to expand It's not the same as "sumptuous", then? Sumptuous is magnificently splendid or expensive. I don't see it as being related to "sleek". I think one can be "sleekly" dressed without being sumptuous. I know it has nothing to do with "sleek" or "slick". I was joking with it sounding like "unctuous". A neatly and stylishly dressed man can be described as dapper. This is seen as a form of gender expression.

The definition of chic is a person who is stylish or adopts current fashion trends. A la mode is defined as trendy or in style. Black is simply hard to wear.
